On Friday’s Cato Daily Podcast, CEA President John Mozena discussed how coalitions are coming together from across the ideological spectrum to take on state-level economic development subsidy programs…and win.

Mozena pointed out that potential allies for corporate welfare reform aren’t always ideological allies. Sometimes, opposition to these programs can come from self-interested “pocketbook” constituencies, such as public employee unions that view tax abatements as reducing government revenues that could go to pay public employees.
