Despite what the title says, CEA President John Mozena and host Andrew Heaton talked about much more than just stadium subsidies in this episode of The Political Orphanage, a popular podcast for the politically disenfranchised that bills itself as “politics minus bile plus jokes.”
In a wide-ranging discussion, Heaton and Mozena walked through why people should care about state and local corporate welfare programs, how much they cost, why politicians keep handing this money out despite all the evidence against them and much more. (Yes, they did eventually talk about stadiums. That’s what finally got Heaton to end the podcast with, “I’ve got to go outside and chop wood and scream old quotes by Milton Friedman, I’m so worked up.”)
