The Center for Economic Accountability is part of a trans-partisan coalition of organizations working toward elimination of the use of non-disclosure agreements in state and local economic development subsidy deals. We joined our coalition partners in applauding the introduction of a bill in the Illinois State Legislature that would accomplish that goal in the state:

“Public money deserves public scrutiny,” said John Mozena, president of the Center for Economic Accountability. “Venture capitalists, hedge fund managers or bank loan officers wouldn’t invest without knowing who was getting the money, and American taxpayers deserve at least the same level of basic transparency from their economic development agencies.”
